IMA Venue Hire

With over five hundred square meters of ground floor space, our various gallery spaces feature three-meter-high ceilings, dimmable LED lighting, museum-grade air conditioning, and polished concrete floors throughout. The IMA offers a unique contemporary backdrop for any occasion, from events for small groups to functions for up to five hundred guests—we can tailor to your needs.

Located in the heart of Fortitude Valley at the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts, the IMA is central to cultural precincts such as James Street and Howard Smith Wharves, and the CBD. There is convenient public transport, access to taxi services, and a secure car park across the street.

Host events such as presentations and workshops; conferences and conventions; film and photoshoots; cocktail receptions and private dinners; weddings and anniversary celebrations; fashion shows, and more.

The IMA is available to hire Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm until late, and all day on Sunday and Monday.

Community Venue Hire

IMA Screening Room
Are you a community/cultural organisation or not-for-profit? Our screening room is available at no/low cost to hire for community events, film screenings, talks and more. The room seats 40 people, includes a projector and sound system and can be booked for one-off or regular events.

IMA Galleries
The IMA Galleries are not available for exhibition hire, however our exhibitions are a fantastic setting for immersive theatre, panel discussions, dance, music and other arts events. We have over 500 square metres floor space, seating for 100+, projectors, speakers and microphones. If you are a community/cultural organisation or not-for-profit we would be delighted to chat about how we can use our space.
