As a part of Patrick Staff’s The Foundation, the IMA is pleased to host an experimental choreography workshop with the artist. The activity will engage with ideas surrounding dance and movement in relation to Staff’s making of The Foundation.
Collaboratively, participants will take part in tracing the genealogy of movement employed by Staff in The Foundation, and his practice more widely. Participants will both learn about the conceptual origins of these histories, and actively negotiate this choreography in dialogue with the artist.
We encourage those that would like to attend to be aware that this will not be a taught lesson and will very much be an active, physical, workshop. However, no dance/movement experience is necessary.
