Sleep Has Her House

QFF Screening

08 August 2019
6.30–8.30pm

Sink into atmospheric scenes of a dark forested landscape in British filmmaker and artist Scott Barley’s feature-length film Sleep Has Her House (2017). This free screening, presented in partnership with Queensland Film Festival (QFF), will be introduced by sound and film specialist Professor Greg Hainge, University of Queensland.

Sleep Has Her House, shot entirely on iPhone, presents painterly and mysterious scenes of the natural world, with a creeping supernatural undertone. This piece of slow cinema has been described as, “The single most momentous hour and a half in the dark this year, a tenebrous landscape film shapeshifting between reality and nightmare, cinema and dream.” by writer and film critic Tom Charity.
