Lobby Play

30 April–29 May 200430 Apr–29 May 2004

Nicole Voevodin-Cash explored the strangeness of reception areas. The upholstered works in Lobby Play looked a bit like minimalist sculpture, a bit like furniture, and invited physical interaction. Her project spilt out of the gallery and into the Judith Wright Centre’s reception areas, where she had replaced the familiar furniture with her works. Lobby Play demonstrated the need for playful interaction in our increasingly alienating public spaces.
