An immersive evening of moving image, art, architecture and time with Daniel Crooks, IMA, and m3architecture.

This July, Calile Culture welcomes the Institute of Modern Art (IMA) for an immersive presentation of new work by Daniel Crooks, one of Australia’s most significant moving image artists. This event will serve as the launch of Crooks’ latest time-twisting video, exploring the central void of Brisbane Girls Creative Grammar’s Creative Learning Centre, designed by m3architecture.

The rare display of work will be accompanied by a discussion led by IMA Director Robert Leonard, with insights from Daniel Crooks and Michael Banney, Director of m3architecture.

Together, they will trace the meeting point between art, architecture, design and theory, considering how we experience place, perception and the fourth dimension of time.

Join us at The Calile Hotel on Wednesday 8 July for an evening of moving image and conversation, where movement becomes structure, time becomes form, and the familiar begins to shift.

Tickets include a welcome drink.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
