Join us as IMA Co-Directors Aileen Burns and Johan Lundh provide a tour of our current exhibitions, Corps à Corps and Material Politics on the exhibitions’ closing weekend.

Corps à Corps
is the first solo exhibition in Australia by Céline Condorelli. Condorelli is an artist who lives and works in London, UK and Milan, Italy; she is the author and editor of Support Structures, Sternberg Press (2009), and one of the founding directors of Eastside Projects, Birmingham, UK. The artist has treated the IMA spaces, both indoor and outdoor, as case-studies in what an exhibition can be, creating diverse environments where everything from climate to furniture are integral features.

Group show, Material Politics, features artists who use everyday materials and approaches to explore issues of ecology, inequality, surveillance, and sovereignty. This exhibition is centred around a series of new commissions and recent works by Zach Blas and Jemima WymanMegan CopeGabriella Mangano and Silvana ManganoArchie MooreRaquel OrmellaKeg de Souza, and Tintin Wulia.

This is a free guided tour; all welcome.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
