Lean into sense and sensation. Ipswich Art Gallery and Institute of Modern Art are colliding for an exciting night of boundary-pushing sound, evocative movement, and durational performance, with performances by Akio Suzuki, Cloudy Ku, Heinz Riegler, Hiromi Miyakita, Juliet Widyasari Burnett and Kasimyn, J.WLSN and Liam Keenan, Primitive Motion Sound System, Queensland Conservatorium Gamelan Ensemble, Unregistered Master Builder, and Vanessa Tomlinson.

Mono is the IMA’s experimental sound program curated by Lawrence English/Room40. Since 2006 it has brought sonic experimentation and boundary-pushing performance to Brisbane/Meanjin. It turns twenty in this year.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
