Event IMA Annual Gala and Benefit Auction

IMA Annual Gala and Benefit Auction

5 May 2023
6.30PM

Join us on Friday 5 May for the IMA Annual Gala and Benefit Auction 2023, honouring Quandamooka artist Megan Cope.

One of Meanjin/Brisbane’s most dynamic artists, Cope’s striking site-specific sculptures, paintings, and videos explore issues relating to place, identity, colonial histories, and the environment. Cope has been captivating local and international audiences with Quandamooka histories and care for Country, and is at a pivotal moment in her career.

Join us as we transform the IMA Galleries into an exclusive, immersive art experience. Enjoy a three-course dinner by hatted restaurant Agnes, accompanied by curated performances from South-East Queensland’s most experimental artists. Tickets for this unique dining experience are strictly limited.

After dinner, join us for a raucous After Party in the IMA Courtyard. Enjoy dessert by Agnes, drinks courtesy of our generous sponsors, and more DJ sets and pop-up performances until late. Purchase your After Party only ticket now.

Bid online and in person on works by Australia’s leading contemporary artists in our Benefit Auction, up until the auction’s exciting close at 10pm.

The support of generous attendees and bidders directly supports the IMA’s future exhibitions and artist commissions, and helps the IMA continue to support Queensland and Australian artists at pivotal points in their practice.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
