Join us for the official opening and prize announcement of the churchie emerging art prize 2023.
Bringing together thirteen artists from across the country, the finalists’ exhibition surveys the compelling and diverse work being produced by emerging artists today.
This year’s finalists are Alrey Batol, Amanda Bennetts, Dylan Bolger, Luke Brennan, Matthew Brown, Raf McDonald, Corben Mudjandi, Melody Paloma, Roberta Joy Rich, Joel Spring, Jess Tan, Debbie Taylor-Worley, and Ash Tower.
Celebrate the announcement of the winners of the $15,000 Overall Prize, sponsored by BSPN Architecture; the $5,000 Special Commendation Prize, sponsored by Fardoulys Constructions; and the two $1,000 Sam Whiteley Highly Commended Memorial Prizes, also sponsored by Madison Cleaning Services.
The prizes will be awarded on the evening by guest judge Tara McDowell, Associate Professor and Director of Curatorial Practice at Monash University, Melbourne.

The gallery entrance is on the ground floor of the Judith Wright Arts Centre, on Berwick Street. There is wheelchair access and an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities also located on the ground floor, and we welcome guide and support dogs.
