Welcoming our new Treasurer to the IMA Board of Directors

The Institute of Modern Art is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Pigott as Treasurer on the IMA Board of Directors. Alan brings a wealth of experience across strategy, business planning, governance, people and culture, and a passion for the visual arts sector.
With his appointment, we farewell and thank leaving member, Kirsty Rourke. Kirsty has contributed valuably to the organisation over her three years on the board, bringing keen insights and a measured approach.
IMA Director Robert Leonard says ‘It’s farewell to our outgoing Treasurer Kirsty Rourke, who reorganised our finances, balanced our books, and kept us on our toes with due diligence. And welcome to our new Treasurer Alan Pigott, whose experience spans the worlds of fine art, high finance, and government’.
About Alan Pigott:
Alan Pigott is a non-executive director and advisor with deep working knowledge of the for-profit, not for profit sectors and public sectors. He is passionate about the visual arts sector in Australia.
Alan has held senior positions across all levels of government including the Premier’s Department of NSW and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Before joining the private sector, Alan was the Deputy Chief Executive of Job Futures, a significant provider of employment services managing Federal and State Government contracts across 166, often remote locations. He was previously Director Arts Development with the NSW Ministry for the Arts and the General Manager of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney. Most recently he was based in Hong Kong for 12 years working in the payments and eCommerce industry
Alan is also a non-executive director of the Melbourne Art Foundation Ltd and serves as an independent member of a number of audit, risk and improvement committees across local government in NSW and QLD.
