Event The Future Is First Nations

The Future Is First Nations

17 September 2021
6–8pm

Join us as we launch The Future Is First Nations, a series of up-late events curated by our First Nations public-program coordinators Tallara Gray and Adam Ford. Conceived in response to Yhonnie Scarce’s exhibition, Missile Park, The Future Is First Nations proposes an alternative to the painful, traumatic histories explored in the  Kokatha/Nukunu artist’s work. The Future Is First Nations is a window through which we can imagine a different future, creatively shaped by First Nations peoples, with sovereignty, agency, and connection to Country. Experience pop-up activations and performances by deadly artists and creatives, including DJ Dameeeela, Hannah Donnelly, Jarra Karalinar Steel, Talia Donoghue, Nicholas Currie, Blak Seed, and Maringla Handcrafted Jewellery.
