With his euphoric mixtapes, records, and texts, Dj/rupture (Jace Clayton) exemplifies porous, nomadic music making. Colliding  divergent musics using club and musique-concrete methodologies, he explores unexpected rhythmic mutation and charmed harmonic dissonance.

Rooted in care, connectivity, and collective action, Lyra Pramuk sits at the nexus of devotional music, ecstatic electronics, and vocal atmosphere. In her album Hymnal, songs are deconstructed and reimagined with fearless experimentation. Compelling and vivid, it’s a music of profound expression and curiosity.

Mono is the IMA’s experimental sound program curated by Room40. Since 2006, MONO has brought sonic experimentation and boundary-pushing performance to Brisbane/Meanjin. Mono turns twenty in 2026.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
