Join us at the Gallery Shop After Hours for the launch of a new collection of ceramic objects by Hunchmark titled Nature of Existence.

Hunchmark is the design practice of Tim Wilson, who creates handmade furniture, lighting, and ceramic homewares from his Gold Coast studio. A hallmark of the Hunchmark brand is a focus on quality design and craftsmanship, using sustainable, locally-sourced materials.

Hunchmark ceramic vessels and mugs have been a favourite in the IMA Gallery Shop and this collection sees Wilson push his playful forms into a new sculptural realm. These pieces take inspiration from ancient forms to meditate on the future.

Join Wilson at the Gallery Shop After Hours and be one of the first to see these new pieces.

  • Tim Wilson

Tim Wilson is a Gold Coast-based designer who started his career in carpentry, with an interest in making timber furniture, before studying 3D Design and Digital Media. His interest in new technology, methods of production, and design philosophies has informed his current practice, which encompasses lighting, ceramic and furniture design as well as sculptural installations. Hunchmark was recently showcased at Makers Take, an exhibition of emerging design.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
