Dessert with Elizabeth Willing

Workshop

05 March 2015
2pm–4pm

  • Event Cost:
    Free

Join Brisbane artist Elizabeth Willing for a special hands-on workshop featuring experimental, fun, and participatory culinary exercises, drawing on the artist’s ongoing Dessert performances. Willing reimagines customary engagements with food, creating a number of multisensory experiences that play with the choreography of dining.

In 2009 Willing completed her honours in Fine Arts (Visual Arts) at Queensland University of Technology. She has undertaken professional development work experience in New York with Janine Antoni (2011); with the Experimental Food Society in London (2012); and with Thomas Rentmeister in Berlin (2014). The Australia Council granted Willing the Kunstlerhaus Bethanien one-year residency in Berlin in 2014; and in July 2015 a residency at HIAP, Helsinki. Willing has been awarded an Australia Council Artstart grant, the Freedman Foundation Travelling Scholarship (2013), a JUMP mentoring Scholarship (2010), and the Melville Haysom Scholarship through QAGOMA (2010).

Capacity for this event is limited. Please email Programming Assistant Tess Maunder to book your place in the workshop.
