Join us in the IMA Gallery Shop from 6pm for the launch of local jewellery designer Laura Armstrong’s latest collection, Submerged.

Laura Armstrong is a Brisbane-based silversmith and artist in residence at Bib ‘n’ Brace Collective. From her studio in Teneriffe, she makes each unique piece by hand. Following sustainable and ethical design principles, her wearable collections stand the test of time.

This collection, Submerged, employs her signature use of the lost-wax technique to create textured, organic forms in sterling silver and plated 18ct gold. The collection is inspired by the sea: waves breaking over rocky outcrops, pearls nestled deep in the mouths of oysters and soft white sand.

Join us After Hours to meet the designer and get a first glimpse at the new collection.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
