The IMA has teamed up with the Queensland Film Festival to curate a selection of recent and rarely seen screen-based works connected to Queensland. From a diverse and exciting mix of practices and projects, we have put together an event in two acts.

The first act begins with a focus on the absurd and the abstract with short pieces by Sam CranstounAishla Manning, Amanda Wolf, and Paul Bai. The evening will conclude with haunting and paranoia-inducing videos by Leena Riethmuller & Callum Galletly, and Daniel McKewen.

The evening promises to be an eclectic combination of some of the most exciting new video art being made in or about Queensland.

Free, all welcome.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
