On the occasion of first retrospective of leading contemporary Chinese artist Xiao Lu, Impossible Dialogue (4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Sydney), join Xiao Lu and exhibition curators Claire Roberts and Xu Hong to view and discuss videos of some of the artist’s recent performance works.
Conversation will focus on Xiao Lu’s ongoing creative interest in deep emotion, extreme action and chance, and connect with broader themes including art and gender, feminism, activism and the writing of art histories. Presented by the School of Culture and Communication, The University of Melbourne and 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Sydney and the exhibition Xiao Lu: Impossible Dialogue 肖鲁:语嘿, in association with the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane.
