Tokyo’s Tenniscoats have created an expansive and evocative songbook over more than two decades. Saya and Ueno operate across a multicoloured spectrum of lush pop melody, folk psychedelia, unsteady electronics and drifting ambient songscapes. They are a beacon of inspiration in the music world, expanding the limits of the pop song. Their latest recording Zenvu Yume epitomises this restless spirit, forging new routes in their practice and in song production.
Tennicoats are joined in by Swiss producer and experimentalist Luca Forcucci, whose work speaks to his interests in dynamic electronics and diverse musical cultures. His recent albums dwell on themes of found sound, rhythm, and intersections between cultural and musical traditions.
