Nick Klein is a Berlin-based artist working across sound, art, and interactive social potential. He has recorded tape, CD, digital file, and vinyl editions for music labels around the world, and runs his own amorphous label project PL. He shows work in art contexts, playing on the friction between sonic and visual spaces.

Meanjin/Brisbane atmospheric post-pop producer Fatshaudi (Rachael Ryan) creates emotional songscapes. Contrasting strong textured electronics with harmonically saturated melodies and voice, she creates evocative pulse-ladened sounds that push beyond the edges of song form.

Mono is the IMA’s experimental sound program, curated by Room40. Since 2006, Mono has brought sonic experimentation and boundary-pushing performance to Brisbane/Meanjin. Mono turns twenty in 2026.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
