Witness Sydney’s legendary Lucas Abela play plate glass and noise electronics. In the past two years, Abela has reimagined his performances, developing a quadraphonic approach that synchronises with his body, resulting in a responsive and embodied aural intensity.

Abela will be supported by Melbourne’s Maria Moles, a drummer/producer whose solo percussion performances span free improvisation, jazz, contemporary composition, and experimental pop, to contribute an acute sense of touch, placement, and timbre, and a powerful rhythmic drive. She recently released the album For Leolanda.

  • Partner:

MONO is a program of experimental sound curated by Lawrence English of Room40. Lucas Abela’s The Same But Different Tour is supported by Australia Council for the Arts.
