The IMA and Room 40 are pleased to present an intimate concert by cross-disciplinary artist David Grubbs. For over twenty years, he has left an indelible impact on music and art. As a recording artist, Grubbs has released twelve solo albums and appeared on more than 150 commercially-released recordings. As well as being a member of the revered groups Gastr del Sol, Bastro, and Squirrel Bait, he has performed with the Red Krayola, Will Oldham, Tony Conrad, Pauline Oliveros, and Loren Connors, among many others.

Grubbs is an Associate Professor in the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College, CUNY, where he teaches MFA programs in Performance and Interactive Media Arts (PIMA) and Creative Writing. His work as been presented at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, MoMA, the Tate Modern, and the Centre Pompidou. Grubbs is a contributing editor in music for BOMB Magazine, directs the Blue Chopsticks record label and is a member of ISSUE Project Room’s Board of Directors.
