Event Courtney Coombs and Daniel McKewen

Courtney Coombs and Daniel McKewen

IMA Belltower Exhibition Opening

09 November 2019
5–7pm

After an open call for applications across Queensland, Courtney Coombs and Daniel McKewen have been selected to exhibit as part of the IMA Belltower program.

Join us for the opening of Field of Vision, an exhibition of new works by Courtney Coombs at IMA Belltower at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts. The exhibition engages with the horizon as a starting point, and a metaphor, for discussing the human condition—specifically connection, disconnection, and longing.

Daniel McKewen’s work Promissory Estoppel will be projected onto the façade of the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts as a temporary public artwork. The work draws on his investigations into the intersections of contemporary art, popular culture, economics, politics, and screen-based mass media.

Both projects will be officially opened with a Welcome to Country at 5.30pm, with McKewen’s projection visible from approx. 6.15pm.

  • Partner:

IMA Belltower at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and this exhibition and artwork projection opportunity is generously supported by The Cove, Newstead.
