IMA Co-Directors Aileen Burns and Johan Lundh will give a tour of our current exhibition, Frontier Imaginaries: No Longer at Ease, which explores the role of the frontier in the global era.

Frontier Imaginaries is a two part exhibition across the IMA and QUT Art Museum, and is curated by Vivian Ziherl as the result of an IMA Curatorial Fellowship.

Burns and Lundh will reflect on the development of this project, and the works by Australian and international artists in the exhibition, including Alice Creischer, Juan Davila, Gordon Hookey, Rachel O’Reilly, Ryan Presley, and Wendelien van Oldenborgh.

Free, all welcome.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
