The recipient of the 2015 Jeremy Hynes Award will be announced on Thursday, 17 December, at 6pm. Three artists and duos have been shortlisted for the IMA’s biannual award given to an emerging experimental Queensland artist: Clark BeaumontCatherine or Kate, and Liam O’Brien.

The recipient will receive a $10,000 cash prize and an exhibition in the IMA’s Green Room in 2016. Previous Jeremy Hynes Award recipients are Aaron Burton (2009), Alex Cuffe (2011), and Chris Howlett (2013).

Jurors this year are Ross Manning, Lyndall Milani, and Jay Younger.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
