New edition supports the 'Making Art Work' publication

Lenticular print by Tony Albert

23 November 2020

As we near the release of the fourth and final round of Making Art Work commissions, we’re excited to launch a new edition by artist Tony Albert in support of the forthcoming Making Art Work publication.

This digital lenticular print—produced exclusively for the IMA—is an extension of Albert’s commissioned video work You Wreck Me. All proceeds from the sale of this edition will go towards funding the Making Art Work publication, due for release in 2021.

In You Wreck Me the artist is depicted sitting atop a suspended exercise ball, ploughing down a monument of Captain Cook. Playing on Australia’s self-deprecating humour, this work is a self-deprecating and timely questioning of our national history.

Purchase via the Gallery Shop here.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
