Guest Info
  • Glenn Barry is a Gamilaraay artist and musician who centres cultural learning in his work. As part of his PhD research into spiritual wellbeing and the healing power of First Nations music, Barry explores the way the vibrations of the yidaki (didgeridoo) aligns the spirit and grounds with the earth. Barry’s culturally interactive approach invites audiences to connect, and become embedded within his music and its energy.

Jorge Rico has been playing traditional musical instruments since he was a teenager. He seeks to evoke the mystical stories of his ancestors through the sounds of pan flutes and traditional bamboo flutes.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
