Each year we like to thank our extended IMA family for their support—our members, supporters, and loyal community—with a celebration: our Annual Party.

Coinciding with The Commute, this year’s Annual Party draws on the exhibition’s relationships locally and across waters, through song, dance and spoken word.

The night is full of dancing, drinks, food, and prizes. This year there’s no need to dress up—just bring your dancing shoes. The Commute artist and host of all-female club nights FEMPRE$$, Hannah Brontë will bring the heat to the dance floor, with special guest performances throughout the night.

First Nations local youth arts organisations Digi Youth Arts will perform a new work A call to commute, directed by Alethea Beetson, with musical composition by Jindhu Lawrie, supported by BlakDance. Guests will also be treated to a surprise performance from Bring a Plate and Dance‘s crew The People.

This year the Annual Party is presented in partnership with Mas & Miek Ceramic House and Innerspace Seating & Systems. Prizes will be up for grabs from Mas & Miek Ceramic House, Innerspace, Newstead Brewing Co.Five Star CinemasThe Miro Apartments and Atrio Apartments. Plus Pizzantica will have their pop-up pizza oven on hand to keep you well-fed.

Our Annual Party is totally free and open to everyone. IMA Members can enjoy a complimentary cocktail or other refreshment thanks to MadFish Wines and Newstead Brewing Co., and Splitrock Tiro.

Membership to the IMA starts from as little as $44/ year.
