Drawing from his expansive collection of Aboriginalia—a term coined by the artist to describe kitschy objects and images that feature naive portrayals of Aboriginality—I AM, AM I, AIM, IMA continues Albert’s longstanding investigation into contemporary legacies of colonisation. Contrasting Australia’s official colours of green and gold against a backdrop of Aboriginalia, Albert’s print exposes the flawed and deeply unsettled foundation of Australian nationalism.
