Event HOSSEI

HOSSEI

Snack Pop-up

09 December 2023
1.00PM–3.00PM

Join us in the Gallery Shop for an afternoon with Sydney-based artist and maker HOSSEI.

In his performances, sculptures, and installations, everyday things become vessels for joy and healing. Acting as exaggerations and extensions of the body, his fantastic costumes and accessories are imbued with talismanic properties, with the artist stitching lucky charms and ‘blesssings’ into clothing and singing into bags so the wearer can carry music with them.

Meet HOSSEI, enjoy a complimentary drink, and shop an exclusive range of his spirited clothing and accessories.

Snack is a pop-up concept store within the Gallery Shop, platforming functional, affordable products by artists and makers. Purchase exciting new products and meet their makers.

Behind the Façade: Designing with Country

Lecture & Book Launch

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
