Stephen Mok and Pru Morrison

Snack Pop-Up

30 October 2021
1–4pm

Shop an exclusive range of original sculptures, functional ceramics, and accessories by two Brisbane-based artists, Stephen Mok and Pru Morrison.  Join them for a glass of bubbles and a relaxed shopping afternoon at the Gallery Shop.

Mok is known for his funny, fanciful, wildly imaginative cartoon-like paintings and drawings. He has collaborated with fashion label Easton Pearson, and designed merchandise for  QAGOMA and Newstead Brewery.

Pru Morrison’s finely crafted porcelain pieces comment on everyday life in Australia. She has been represented by Ray Hughes Gallery in Sydney, and has won major awards including The Gold Coast International Ceramic Acquisition and The Ergon Energy Art Award Acquisition, and was a finalist in The Alice Prize 2020.

Snack is a pop-up concept store within the Gallery Shop, designed to platform functional, affordable products made by local artists.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
